Investor in the Wilderness: Apple Investor Manipulation was Disgraceful

  • Raj · 1 year ago
    Yes i agree with you..
Come to think of it they must have started the rumors of Steve Jobs health..
i cannot believe how they can manipulate this...
Remember what i said about buying lo and selling high, what better way than to create fear and panic among retail investors like you and me...
Affordable pricing of the iphone is a very good strategy for APPL, now even my husband says i can replace my old phone with an iphone that comes along with the ipod features as well.
Unfortunately i am long on this with calls, and the time value is dissipating quiet rapidly....

I feel your pain! I am getting clobbered on my calls as well.
  • skyking · 1 year ago
you hit the nail on the head. my calls are getting killed.
  • ironcross11 · 1 year ago
I sold short to cover my longs when I saw what was happening, but it still didn't keep me from taking a 2% loss. (I should have doubled down) But I'm wondering if it's actually the high P/E, the long wait for the next positive event, and the fact that Apple normally magnifies Nasdaq action by 5x during swings such as Jan -April. There's nothing to buoy the stock in the face of so many bears.

Savitz, Trask, Blodgett, Poletti are scum.
  • hos · 1 year ago
so...you are long aapl. I take the exact opposite view. I think that aapl has been hiding something for a long time. I also think that it will come out within the year. I, of course am short.

"....these manipulators have had there day" ?? THERE day? or their day?
  • fayita · 1 year ago
You are right on Zach! I wish your voice could be more widely heard. Analysts and the FUD masters need more scrutiny and I hate to say the word but "regulation" to reveal and control the real reason behind their actions i.e. profits. What I don't get is why so many follow that loud mouth Cramer. Right after the 3G announcement, he told his believers to sell 3/4 of their holdings in AAPL. Well, the Lemmings must have listened because look where we are now. We, and they all know AAPL is a great company with a great man and many other smart men and women behind it. The negative karma will pass.
  • daniel · 1 year ago
Yeah I thought the same thing. There was definitely some fishy shorts spreading these ridiculous rumors. No problem though, just picked up some more at 172
  • troy · 1 year ago
I know this rumor will pass but I don't think it will pass for another week or so. Because of this I think the stock is heading down to 155-160. Face it FEAR WINS in this new Terror economy.

    Wow! Getting slaughtered!! Slippery slope!
  • GamingDiva · 1 year ago
You are dead on, I'm a writer and have had the chance to write about this topic on a few of the websites I write for. I write about Macs. I haven't because I didn't want to add to the negativity. I think it's disgraceful.

hang in there zach, I've been calling for the pullback in the naz to 2350 for a while, but never saw this coming with apple...my account is down another 10 grand this am and obviously overweight in apple. lesson learned. Sad twist, i was just discussing this with my wife the other day and how i believed apple would take a 30% haircut if something ever happened to steve jobs, although we were discussing more along the lines of all the traveling he does--his past history with cancer never even came up b/c of he understanding of the type it was and how it was eradicated

after surviving the freefall this past january, i thought the worst was over--and to add insult to injury, my etrade statement for the month of may came this morning...lol...13 days seems like a long time ago.

I took extreme exception to a so called Tech Blogger in a tech magazine - very popular among the "anything Anti-Mac or Apple" types - couple of months ago when he started railing on Steve Jobs because Jobs tried to deal with his earlier cancer bouts using alternative therapies - apparently without this moron's permission. This moron went on and on about how Jobs could do this to the investors and the public - and indirectly called Jobs a "liar" again and again.

When I pointed out to this moron that how someone deals with his life threatening conditions is his own business and unless one is faced with such a situation of their own, they would not understand it. So I told him to lay off Jobs. I mentioned how my aunt behaved absolutely desperately when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

This moron then sends me the amazing response about how one of his relatives died in in 9/11 and so he knows all about suffering and pretty much tells me that MY response was in "bad taste"... What the...!!! Why do these internet blogger types think that just because they can type a couple of lines of what passes for journalism they can be the moral and ethical judge on someone else's choices concerning life and death?

I decided that this was it and will not read anything from that magazine or site that hosts such idiots. The FUD spread by such morons just shows the downward spiral taken by simple ethics and morality in the "internet age".

Teresa Poletti from Marketwatch and the entire Marketwatch editorial staff get a rush from creation and dissemination of lies, half truths, and rumors as if they were facts. This is an ongoing game for them with, I supose personal profit by what would be disclosed as under-the-table compensation if their activities were investigated.

Yeah, but the Apple stock option backdating was not, was it?
  • Bob Sabiston · 1 year ago
Sorry, I disagree. When I saw Steve on stage, it was shocking. How could anyone write about that keynote without mentioning it? Steve's alarming thinness overshadowed anything to do with the iphone. He seriously looks like he's about to give up the ghost, and Steve Jobs IS apple. Of course their shares slid, and it wasn't any kind of manipulation. If he goes, Apple is toast!

    Here we go again!
  • taojones · 1 year ago
like the supreme court appointments even if steve were to evaporate tomorrow Apple will have a decades work just fulfilling the promise of the groundwork laid down as of last week. I don't think the apple board would be stupid enough to place a gil amelio or teli whatever his name was in Steve's office. the profit statements next quarter will speak for themselves. I think Steve will be ok for a while longer. but apple needs to adress this one way or the other and we need to deal with what the stock IS doing not what we want it to do.

The traders on the Wall Street are like rabbits! Even the rustling of leaves startles them!
  • cayhorse · 1 year ago
    ZacHO,

    Did you just realize this?

Come on now, with all due respect, for you are probably a much brighter investor than I, but once again, APPL gets hit. Not for doing what all the pundits and KNOW IT ALLs said it would do and it did, but then there are the jerk off day traders that start a sell off for their profit taking and the, well you know it all goes to shit.

But APPL being Apple will come back again. Once they have the official launch in July, then it will go back up. But, gradually. Then the skeptisium will start back up again.

    Frigging sharks...

    Nice rant.

    BOB!!!!!

    Are you serious?

You are a ASSHAT!? Steve's ill look, is frightening to you?

Have you looked at gasoline prices lately?

Steve, works his magic, but Apple has direction there now. Sure Steve is the driving micro manager, like most big corps could use right now, but there is a direction set fourth. Apple has a plan and Steve has it all laid out. And for you to speculate because of how he looks and that that has a thing to do with Apple Stock price or success for that matter, ? Well I have a Black presidential candidate that is going to save the United States of America that I want to tell you about!
  • Partners in Grime · 1 year ago
Thin people live longer. Steve's voice had lots of enthusiasm and pep.
  • WaltFrench · 1 year ago
Manipulation of stock prices is illegal, plain & simple. If you have evidence of that, you should alert the SEC. However, questions raised in widely-published blogs hardly crosses the threshold. Perhaps you're claiming something that you don't know, which might make you look stoopid given that you're calling the kettle black.
