  • shambo2 · 1 year ago
this is the 2nd nightmare for me , i didn't learn from the last years apple disaster, i looked at the company with the i-phone in 80 countries, china being the next big one, mac sales keep breaking threw with higher market share, the new app store rocks, i university, 900 best buy stores...i made the mistake of falling in love with a stock, with a well run company, with a people and philosophy. i also made the mistake as you do when your in love of pouring everything in and not diversifying......hope this helps some other investor from going romantic.....

What would you suggest if you are straddled at this point? unwinding your down side, or holding firm?

I think there's still downside to go. We need at least one more big push down to get fear to a crescendo in order to achieve the capitulation event most of us desire.

This is the best of an Obama rally that you can expect for the next two years. Obama rally-Oxymoron, no, definition-- no rally at all--ever.

Corruption and the uncontrolled shorting of stocks are the main issues with the mess we are in. I don't see how Obama has anything to do with this. On the other hand, I do think McBush is right in the center of it.

Wall Street needs cleansing, the question is who has the integerity and nut_ to do it.

It is impossible to predict the bottom because no one knows what will happen next. Yesterday I started buying in 100 share increments on the way down. I believe the financials now have the opportunity to put their cards on the table and hopefully and clean their own house. The next challenge is the repercussions in terms of the economy as a whole. Again you cannot find two people who agrees on what these repercussions will be or how serious.

I am pleased with the talk of regulation on Wall Street as I believe the corruption is out of control. In addition I hope to see some people in jail when the smoke clears.

How safe are out money market cash reserves at places like Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab, etc.? Are we insured up to $100,000 only, or more?

If you don't sell your long position now you have not lost anything except time.
Apple WILL recover and will gain faster than the market.
The only uncertainty is WHEN. That's what it means to be a "LONG TERM Investor"
