Investor in the Wilderness: Apple Takes Bite out of Microsoft

    In early 2008, NPD Research reported Apple's share of the U.S. retail computer market at 14%. And IDC says Macs now represent 6% of the overall U.S. computer and notebook market, with Apple's shipments growing at a rate of 25% in recent months. In comparison, the global PC market grew only 14.6% during that same period, and the overall U.S. computer market grew just 3.5%.
